An area maze or "A-maze" for short is a maze where you step from tile
to tile, observing carefully the size
of the area of the tile you are standing on.
This sizes have to alternate: bigger, smaller, bigger, smaller, etc.
So if you go from one tile to an adjacent bigger tile, then the next step has to be to an adjacent smaller tile.
A-mazes are a totally new type of mazes and have been discovered on
15 August 1999 in London by the author.
Consequently there is no literature available on them whatsoever.
So here some examples of A-Mazes (see my Ziillions
games for software versions):
Example 1
This is the first A-maze ever published.
The task is to start at one decorated square and visit all other decorated
squares.
You have to find out as well whether to start "smaller, bigger, smaller,..."
or to start "bigger, smaller, bigger,...".

Part of the challenge is of course to find out whether one observed
tile is actually bigger or smaller or equal in area to
another observed tile.
Example 2
See my Ziillions games for the software
version.
The task is to start at one blue triangle and visit all other blue
triangles.

Example 3
See my Ziillions games for the software
version.
The task is to start at one butterfly (yellow 2x2 square) and visit
all other butterflies.
